Drawing Outdoors: Seeing & Being
Sketching en plein air, with a side of psychogeography!
What will happen in this session?
Taking direct inspiration from the Brighton landscape, we'll be sketching outside, loosely creating a personal map to always evoke a sense of this time and this place. This will be a fun and relaxed session suitable for all abilities. After meeting at Puck first, we'll have a chat about psychogeography and look at examples. We'll then walk as a group on pavements and grass towards the seafront, stopping at one other main location along the way but drawing at many as we go. The walk will not involve any steep hills and there won't be any steps. If it's raining, we'll still meet at Puck but there'll be a wet weather contingency plan! Paper and some suitable drawing mediums will be provided for this session, but please bring anything specific that you'd like to use - a small bag/pouch/pocket to hold any mediums is a good idea. A bottle/can of drink will also be provided. This session is £25. Transparently, this is because any session costs a lot to run. For this session, this price includes a sketchbook, the use of suitable materials for the duration of the session and if desired, the use of a field easel and an A2 drawing board. Please bring any other specific materials that you'd like to use. A can/bottle of drink will also be provided. Cancellation Policy
I run my business fairly and that consideration extends to myself: Please understand that no monetary refunds will be issued for missed classes, whatever the circumstance, if the issue lies with you, the client. This is owing to the amount of work and costs involved in preparation. If this class is cancelled by me, I will absolutely issue you a full refund in as timely a manner as possible. No-Shows or Less Than 72 Hours Notice Given of No Show: There will be no refund or transferral of ticket. This is because the session will have already been devised and crafted for the booked number of participants, materials will already have been purchased and if the session involves working with a third party such as a model, that person will still need to be compensated for their time and expertise too. Unable to Attend Booked Session with a Minimum of 72 hours Notice Given: If the named ticket holder emails the host to say that they cannot attend with a minimum of 3 days notice (72 hours) and they have emailed from the email address used to book the ticket, the session host will transfer the named ticket holder's credit over to another like-for-like session of the ticket holder's choice (if there are spaces available). This will be valid for 6 months. Ticket Transfer of Booked Session to Another Person: If the named ticket holder wishes to transfer their booked session to another person, the named ticket holder will need to confirm this via email from the with the host with at least 12 hours notice prior to the booked session start. Ticket Transfer to A Different Session to the Original Booked Session: If the named ticket holder wishes to transfer their ticket to another session, the named ticket holder will need to confirm this via the email address originally used to book the ticket with the host at least 3 days (72 hours) prior to the start of the earliest session (whether the earliest session is the one they have already booked, or the one they would like to transfer to). This is so other people have the chance to book the previously booked slot.
